After a flight from Nashville to New York (2 hours) and one flight from New York to Barcelona (8 hours) I made it safely to Barcelona. Once I got to the airport my supervisor picked me and six other student teachers up from the airport and immediately took us to school. When we got to school we were able to freshen up and meet our cooperative teacher, my teachers name is Emma. She teaches 18 1st graders. She was very welcoming and I will enjoy getting to know her better. After school I was able to meet my host family. They are a family of four and have two kids named Ana Maria (Age 11) and Juan Camilo (age 12). They speak very little English so communication is a bit difficult. But they are very sweet and welcoming! I have my own room and bathroom which is very nice! I can tell I am going to love it here!
