On Wednesday I was able to attend the Barcelona, Munich semifinal futbol game! The only way I know how to even begin to describe the atmosphere would be to compare it to a University of Kentucky college basketball game playing against the University of Lousiville in the final four NCAA ttournament. This game however determined who would play in the championship in Berlin, Germany. This was a very exciting game because throughout the whole game both teams came very close to scoring several goals. It wasn't until almost ten minutes were left that Lionel Messi (the number one player in the world) scored two goals back to back for Barcelona. And then a third goal was scored again by Barcelona. Barcelona advanced to the championship game with a win of 3-0 against Munich! It was so fun to watch people from all nationalities, all races, and many different people who speak many different languages come together to cheer on Barcelona. Something that I found to be very interesting was that sports are one commonality that we can all use to communicate. We do this through using movements and actions. We all have the same understanding even though we may not be able to communicate using words.
